Plants
Hello everyone, so excited about the warmer weather. We went ahead and bought a tomato plant that's only because I spotted it in Sam's Club. I kind of cheated because it was already started, it's about 18" high. It came in the planter and has the little holder thing, I don't know what the real term is for it, but it has the fence like thing so that the plant can be held up while growing the tomatoes. I think I will still get two more plants and put them in the planters I already have. I just want some fresh tomatoes really badly. I don't think I will try to grow anything else though, if I do it will be cucumbers because I was very successful with those last year and they were yummy. Also a coworker of mine gave me two gardenia bushes and I am excited to get those planted. I love the sweet smell of the gardenia bush. I will have to wait until next weekend though because my sister is here visiting for the Easter holiday and she's not real big on planting, she would rather be shopping, so it's off to Raleigh and Chapel Hill we go today. It should be fun though. I hope everyone is enjoying this nice weather, I know I am!

Good luck with the planting. I decided to buy them from the farmers market this year. I have too much going on for a garden!
ReplyDeleteI also love gardenias. They remind me of summers at my grandparent's house.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have great luck with the tomatoes. The planter from Sam's sounds like a great idea.
I typically cheat on the tomato plants as well. I always have good intentions, but find that whenever I start from seeds something goes wrong.
ReplyDeleteI had such big plans for a garden this year--but jeez, it seems like all I have time for is schoolwork and work. Maybe next year... The gardenias are going to be great. I love to put them in a vase and within minutes the whole room smells great.Cucumbers are good, only thing--they give me heartburn like crazy, but I still eat them.
