PROM

Hello everyone, it's Prom week for Kelsea! We are so excited. Her prom is this Saturday and she is going with her boyfriend. They have been "going out" since this past fall, but have been good friends for a couple of years. Instead of going out to eat, Brielle gave Kelsea the idea to have a dinner at home. So I volunteered to have the dinner at our house. I got outside last weekend and planted flowers and weeded the beds. So everything outside is looking spiffy. Now I have to clean the inside, dust, sweep, etc. We are going to set up two long tables with white table cloths in our sunroom. We will have to take out two or three of our chairs in there. We will put fresh flowers on the tables. Oh and I am going to attempt to make an edible fruit arrangement. The dinner will consist of steak, chicken, baked potato, salad and rolls. Oh and dessert of course. My Dad has been called over to the rescue to grill the meat, because neither George or I are good at grilling out, but hopefully we will get better at it. George did grill hot dogs last night to get the grill going and he did a great job. Kelsea has invited three couples and a single person, so there should be around 10 of them. It should be fun. George is busy power washing our deck even as I type, then he's going to cut the lawn tomorrow. Needless to say we are looking forward to the "party", but will be relieved when it's over.

Plants

Hello everyone, so excited about the warmer weather. We went ahead and bought a tomato plant that's only because I spotted it in Sam's Club. I kind of cheated because it was already started, it's about 18" high. It came in the planter and has the little holder thing, I don't know what the real term is for it, but it has the fence like thing so that the plant can be held up while growing the tomatoes. I think I will still get two more plants and put them in the planters I already have. I just want some fresh tomatoes really badly. I don't think I will try to grow anything else though, if I do it will be cucumbers because I was very successful with those last year and they were yummy. Also a coworker of mine gave me two gardenia bushes and I am excited to get those planted. I love the sweet smell of the gardenia bush. I will have to wait until next weekend though because my sister is here visiting for the Easter holiday and she's not real big on planting, she would rather be shopping, so it's off to Raleigh and Chapel Hill we go today. It should be fun though. I hope everyone is enjoying this nice weather, I know I am!
